Oregon bakery refuses to make same-sex wedding cake
Sat Feb 2, 2013
This is another case of respect my values not your own - typical liberal thinking
'Gangnam Style' (and spoofs) hit 1.2 billion views
Sat Oct 13, 2012
The video is hilarious. I liken it to "Sexy and I Know It."
Lifelong layover: Old jets being recycled as homes
Mon Jul 16, 2012
My first impression is that these guys need to learn how to make reasonable storage in their planes - or get rid of the extra crap - either way. Also - I think it would be really interesting to take two planes and some metal workers - chop the top of of one plane and the bottom out of the other and …
Kansas governor signs 'Shariah bill' to ban Islamic law
Sat May 26, 2012
I would be interested to know exactly what crimes this piece of legislation is supposed to prevent, as well as the prevalence of biased or sympathetic court decisions that made it seem necessary. Mistreatment of another person should always be punishable by law, regardless of the belief behind it.
Underground gay group emerges, shaking evangelical Christian college
Thu May 24, 2012
It does not matter if you are gay or not - we are all born in sin and live sinful lives. If you are a Christian (as I am) and believe that homosexuality is a sin then I must ask what makes it any bigger or different than your own sins? Does God grade on a curve, is this sin to big for God to forgive …
Psychiatrist's journey to apology on gay 'cure'
Fri May 18, 2012
Why does anyone care if you are born gay or not? I refuse to reduce a complex being to a single trait. Why this asinine topic continues, I'll never understand. I think Dr. Spitzer has little to apologize for. He challenged an idea and studied it with the resources that were available at the time.
The latest child-rearing fad? Detachment parenting
Fri May 18, 2012
Wonderfully funny article!! I giggled my way through it. I love my children more than anything, but parenting (if you do it right) is hard work!! I've had jobs I adored and still complained about occasionally.
Birth defects a third more common in IVF babies
Fri Apr 20, 2012
Considering that 1 in 5 are born with a disability of some kind, the numbers on assisted reproductive technology seem to be of no bigger risk than doing it the old fashioned way. I am glad people have this option, though I wish it (and adoption) were less expensive and more accessible.
Grieving may be included as part of depression
Tue Jan 24, 2012
I agree that it wouldn't be wise to treat someone dealing with a recent loss with medication, however if a loss is traumatic enough mental health issues often crop up later down the road. It isn't fresh, but it is still part of the grieving process.
Marine to serve no time in Iraqi killings case
Tue Jan 24, 2012
I find the lack of consequences imposed for this soldier's severe lack of judgement and his following actions a gross miscarriage of justice. I understand that our Armed Forces Personnel are under great pressure when on foreign soil, but this is completely over the top.
